Live, bi-directional functionality. Dashboards to display KPIs, reports relevant to the dashboard's audience and compile resources, including files and links. In comparison, Excel and SharePoint do not support autonomous teams as well.
I've been able to leverage training and the community to work through all my obstacles except one. We have a particular use case where an accepted request then needs to populate some columns into a new sheet, and then certain cells in the new sheet need to be linked back to the "tracker" sheet where the requests live. We have been manually cell-linking to accomplish this, but because we do it for each accepted request, it would be great to find a way to automate it. I haven't identified a way to do this with information in the training modules or community, but I haven't yet submitted my question to the community, which will be my next step.
Problems: missed deliverable dates, missed invoicing/billables, missed customer experience opportunities, missed employee engagement opportunities, and missed updates to processes/standard work. By using Smartsheet we are increasing the efficacy of our communication, supporting autonomous completion of tasks/projects, and effectively delivering and billing for our work. The downstream impacts have materially benefited the customer experience and employee engagement.
Smartsheet is 100% intuitive and 100% customizable to your exact needs.
Honestly nothing, it is really great. Sometimes it looks a bit barren, but maybe that is the beauty of it too.
Collaborate, organise data, collect data, planning, standardize workflows.
The sheet automation features provide options to manage large amounts of data within multiple sheets and by various users with predefined rules, limiting extra steps and room for error. Equally, I appreciate the form feature that allows for a simplified view and sheet protection when collecting data from outside sources.
The learning curve! There is so much capability within the software. Unless you are a data guru, the average person has a lot to learn. The training provided felt fast and challenging to retain and then implement. A true beginner course may help to bridge the gap.
Information is now seamlessly shared between departments that otherwise failed to communicate in the past. Automation features ensure all parties have the information necessary for the department's specific needs.
Dashboard. I love creating dashboard for my team and managers so that they can view our programs in a simplified report that is also engaging. I also love the automation feature as it removes a lot of manual labor.
Regarding webinars and training opportunities, some times just doesn't work for me because of my location and time difference. I could review recorded or already available trainings but I find live training more valuable.
Reporting requirements. Smartsheet has given me live reporting that can easily accessible. The automatic updates has decreased the amount of time I put into building reports. Meetings has been very efficient and I noticed that there's very little preparation now since I've been using the dashboard.
Being able to attach files and share with colleagues.
Sometimes the program is slow or refreshes slowly.
SmartSheet helps with collaborative efforts.
Utilizing a live document with co-workers that is not Google centric is key for our business needs. The ability to create dashboards, assign tasks, and keep track of budgets is key for my day-to-day activities and SmartSheets fills this gap.
I wish that SmartSheets had the same functionalities as Excel or had a glossary of equations that can be used. Having to navigate on what can be transferred between Excel and SmartSheets can sometimes be tricky to understand.
The ability to have a live document that can be shared across all team members. Being able to create and share dashboards containing high level stats to C-Suite members is also very valuable.
Smartsheet saves me a ton of time collecting data from colleagues via forms, organizing data through reports, and sharing data with colleagues through dashboards and other published links. Our teams are dispersed, virtual teams that work across disciplines and institutions. Smartsheet keeps us connected in a way that MS Teams cannot.
The downside of Smartsheet is the implementation burden of getting busy colleagues to adapt how they work to use it optimally. I rely heavily on forms because people are used to web forms, but it isn't easy to get extended team members to use other novel features, like the Update Requests. People are so busy that introducing a new tool, even one that can save time and energy in the long run is a heavy lift because the initial investment to learn how to use it is too daunting.
Smartsheet has provided a platform to manage projects collaboratively, allowing the workload to be distributed between team members. Smartsheet has also allowed us to visualize our workflows for executive leadership to effectively communicate progress toward current objectives and capacity for future objectives.
Smartsheet is very user-friendly, easy to learn, and offers great tutorials! As soon as I started using Smartsheet I fell in love with how organized and efficient it makes my project management. I love the dashboards and the work insights.
I love all the Smartsheet features, especially now that my company is an enterprise user and gets all the cool features like dynamic view, data shuttle etc. I dislike that if you are a regular user, you don't get these features, or there is a cell linking limit. Also, I wish you didn't have to purchase the plan for multiple users, for example a small business might be the sole owner but still want all the features.
Smartsheet allows us to manage our projects with multiple stakeholders. I work in Quality Improvement, so I need to track over 500 stakeholders and engage them in surveys monthly. I love the ability of Smartsheet to allow me to engage with a big audience with surveys and then analyze their responses using the work insights or my own metrics sheet. I also use the Dashboards to measure and display their responses, which allows me to make quality improvement decisions and report to upper management in an organized way. We also use Smartsheet as a customer-facing "website" where they can interact with our dashboard to learn more.
Smartsheet has allowed us to automate and track processes that we used to have to expend labor hours to manually accomplish. The notifications and reminders are also very helpful.
One of the things I need to track is time spent on a task and Smartsheet for whatever reason does not have a built in method to track time (only days). I did figure out a workaround using a helper sheet but that seems pretty rudimentary for something that does other things so well.
As an organization we struggle with communication but through Smartsheet we are able to effectively track and collaborate on projects. We were able to consolidate some disparate tools into Smartsheet.
Easy to use and easy to read. The best way we have found for sharing spreadsheets amongst multiple parties and keeping everyone involved up to date. Great for real-time progress updates, logging needs from clients, etc. Also a user-friendly scheduling tool with Gantt charts.
Basic subscription limits the number of sheets and users you can share with. This is resolved with a higher subscription level, but I'm right on the line where that is seldom needed. Not really a complaint against Smartsheet, just my level of use
Keeping everyone on task and up to date with current status/progress of tasks and projects. Easier to access for all parties compared to juggling an excel file on a local network.
The ability to assign tasks and share information in one spot across the company has helped our company succeed in multiple projects with various sites that we dealt with relating to our master project.
The main thing I don't like right now is that I have no easy way of obtaining more information related to training or source material outside of the webinars. If some Tutorial YouTube videos were sponsored by Smartsheet, that would allow me the visual ability to watch, perform, and interact with other individuals trying to learn the same concepts.
SmartSheet is allowing our company to grow, stay organized, and even find ways to streamline our workflow by allowing us the overview to see what steps are needed for our field techs to perform.
The team collaboration and customer support. They are so patient and willing to go the extra mile for thier customers.
I wish we could give the forms a custom link when er send them to our customers. Or if we could add our name to the link.
Client collaboration
I love how intuitive it is. It's easy to back and forth between different projects
I hate that you have to save after each edit. I wish it automatically saved my work.
It gives my team and I a place to collaborate on protects virtually.
There are functions in Smartsheet that aren't available in other similar product alternatives. I like how easy it is to create and share data. The dashboards make it easy to present data in a polished manner.
I really wish Smartsheet would have a unique function similar to Google Sheets. I also would like to see the account representative reaching out more and/or info from teams that work on the additional apps within Smartsheet.
The live dashboards are a life saver for our data input sheets. Not having to redo everything with replacement data is truly priceless. We utilize a python script to automatically bring over select Asana fields which is where our project tasks are focused in. This allows us to manage the produciton teams projects within our Smartsheet tool.
The simplicity of dynamic views and the ability to make a dashboard to show data or items on a smart sheet. The ability to share data with teams inside and outside the organization.
My biggest complaint is not being able to sort a smartsheet after a filter is applied. I would like to be see all items that meet my filter and from there be able sort a column from A --> Z.
The problem that smartsheet is solving is a custom workflow and sharing information across many departments and team members. This allows for viewing, comments and feedback to be captured in one place.
Smartsheet has been great for organizing all of our client's and all details of each project as it moves through the production process. Smartsheet allows us to navigate through different sheets and link information across different departments where it is relevant.
Smartsheet took a little bit of getting used to and in some situations there is redundant data entry across different sheets. In some situations we do not want to link sheets with each other so there is a little bit of recreation.
Smartsheet works great for me and my company because it allows multiple users to view the same information at the same time. We can lock information that is only pertinent to be viewed by certain users and information can only be altered by specific users. Smartsheet also allows updates to be made and viewed by other users in real time. This is essential for communication across multiple departments. This is also a great product for companies that have remote employees as well.
The top driver for me adopting Smartsheet from the beginning was the ease of use and feature-rich Gaant capabilities. I deal with extensive waterfall development schedules that contain complex dependencies. This tool gives me exactly what I need to keep cross-functional teams aware of project timing and blockers. As I get to use Smartsheet at a more in-depth level (Control Center, Automation, Resource Management), it is clear that this is also the right tool for scalability on more extensive programs and portfolio managment.
Setting up Control Center, Blueprints, etc., is very complex at this point for intro users. Consulting contracts were needed with Smartsheet specifically, and I think long-term enablement of end-customer set up for these would be ideal.
- Complex program/portfolio management - Dashboard communications and rollups to executive levels - Increased productivity/efficiency with utilizing automation within the Gaant tools
Automated emails, spreadsheets, easy formulas etc.
I can't use smartsheet when I am offline
Smartsheet saves me time on having to write emails or task assignments for the team. It also sends reminders, so I don't have to. It is easy to program these kinds of tasks
Automation is one of the best features in smartsheet. The form is also the best feature that we can use it.
We cannot find anything by using Ctrl + F key. This is what I have about smartsheet.
Smartsheet helps us in saving time, effort, and resources.
The userfriendly and straightforward interface
Automating certain unctions has been tricky; unable to create new tabs on the same worksheet.
Organization, communication, tracking projects and task management
