After trying out multiple membership plugins, I committed to MemberPress. It's easy to implement, simple to maintain, and gets the job done. No regrets. Everything from access rules to coupons to customizing the login form is slick and easy with MemberPress. From a technical standpoint, the integration with Stripe is solid; unlike some membership plugins, MemberPress stores the right information in Stripe instead of using it solely as the payment processor. That's a big advantage when it comes to integrating with other products in conjunction with MemberPress.
The cost was the only thing that made me hesitate in going with MemberPress. I really wanted to make a free product work, but I couldn't get them to do what I needed. In the end, I have been very happy to invest in MemberPress.
I also wanted a membership plugin that integrated with Thrive Themes, and every other plugin I tried was not configurable. MemberPress, on the other hand, worked seamlessly.
I spent three days testing a main MemberPress competitor. Even though I'm highly experienced with software development I found their product a tough go as I had to develop everything using tags. After three days and only about 50% through development I thought I should try MemberPress. Within 3 hours I had accomplished as much as I had with their competitors. By mid-morning the second day I had integrated and tested LearnDash, BuddyBoss Platform, Stripe, and ActiveCampaign. Another advantage to MemberPress was that they had applied their years of experience in memberships to what marketing needs. They had all the coupons, timing, pricing, and email notifications as predesigned and integrated features. LearnDash and BuddyBoss also have integration plugins that made integration easy. In the other competing product I would have had to develop almost all of that and integration with WooCommerce by myself. I'm very satisfied and I'm sure my members will be as well.
MemberPress is very easy to install and configure, but there should be more video tutorials and help docs. I found a couple of very helpful videos on YouTube, but they were from BuddyBoss and LearnDash.
I'm building a learning community for consultants and high-level independent professionals. The site needs integration between WordPress, LearnDash, BuddyBoss Platform, and ActiveCampaign. Biggest two benefits are 1. Ease of use while retaining high functionality 2. Pre-developed solutions for membership best practices.
MemberPress is very easy to use and get started. They have options not available with other membership platforms. I love building membership sites for my clients and it is really easy to do with MemberPress. As a WordPress professional, I have tested a great deal of membership softwares, and MemberPress is a stand out.
The only downside to MemberPress is that is quite expensive. But as I am in Australia, that tends to have more to do with conversion rates.
MemberPress allows us to create individual videos to sell as 3 day passes at https://tv.bodyreformers.com.au We were not able to do that with the previous membership plugin we were using.
Straight forward. Bug free. Simple to get going and integrates with everything that I already had on the site. Sensational.
Haven't experienced a downside... some would say the cost but I understand that there was a lot of heart and soul put into this.
I have this working on about 6 sites now. It works for yoga memberships, eBook management, meditation courses, monthly memberships and day count memberships. You have thought of all the ways I needed to use it.
It gives me complete freedom to manage content, subscriptions, and members easily and conveniently
I'd like a deeper integration with Elementor, maybe a few widgets, and not having to use so much shortcodes
All my members have acces to what they pay for, and can access and modify their accounts and subscriptions easily
Memberpress takes your average Wordpress build and adds significant functionality. Wordpress builds were falling behind in the world of click funnels, membership sites, etc, and Memberpress brought a perfect solution.
The build process could have a better flow. It's a little clunky.
Creating paid membership sites with Wordpress...what a game changer! We have been able to add dozens of clients since discovering Memberpress!
I like that it connected with my stripe account and doesn't charge additional fees!!! I was paying monthly rate + transaction fees with Moonclerk, and then extra processing fees with Stripe. Since I invested in MemberPress it is saving me hundreds a month! It's already paid for itself in the first month! I like that it is easy to set up! I have found that almost every other plugin I have is pretty difficult to set up. MemberPress was 3 easy steps! I really really enjoyed that because usually setting up plugins is what takes up a lot of my time, this took up nearly ZERO time!!
Honestly?? I would say the rules page can be a little confusing, but also I am just learning everything.
Well saving money has been the first amazing benefit, that functionality and the where I could have gated and un-gated content totally sold me on the idea! The next would be it is just super easy for my clients to make their accounts and set up their payments. I love that it integrates with Buddypress. I am using some other membership features and they all play well with Buddypress - so that was a key component for me.
Everything is "built in" and the integrations work seamlessly. VERY few problems, ever, but when there are, their Support folks a right on it! Has soooo much flexibility. Works super-well with my LMS plugin, Learndash. Because they've been around such a long time, they've worked out all the bugs.
With tons of flexibility comes some complexity. Sometimes when you haven't used a feature in a while, it's hard to remember where all the checkboxes and settings are. But one visit to the Memberpress documentation usually solves this.
Has allowed me to create a robust learning environment when integrated with Learndash and Mailchimp. I can offer both free and paid courses and segment my Mailchimp email lists accordingly. I also support WordPress website clients and I set their Care Plans up on a recurring membership (linked to Stripe) so I don't have to invoice the client each month. Memberpress is the core of my money-making efforts.
Easy set-up, en versatile. For me, running a Dutch news site, the integration with the specific Dutch payment system iDeal has proven to be the matchwinner. I am now using it for a donation-based service, like Patreon, but without the problem of an external moneypit.
We do not use is as a paywall, but we would like the possibility for logged in members, to be able to share some members-only posts with their network, for a limited time or limited numer of connections.
We are a cultural nuewssite, and need our posts to be open, and shareable. We do however give different info to logged-in members, and a hassle free read, without banners and advertising. This can be done with other plug-ins, but memberpress offers the possibility to raise a paywall when and where we need it, if we thiks so.
Easy to install, good pricing and good tutorials that teach you how to use the tool.
Nothing really, I still need to work with it long-term to understand what else could be improved, satisfied with the product so far!
Selling different membership levels to my online community
It is seamless - set it up and forget about it after that.
Nothing to complain about - no issues discovered.
It manages subscriptions, membership and courses
The support from Memberpress is really impressive. I've contacted them several times over the last couple of months and they've always been really helpful. They get back to me quickly and have resolved every issue I've had. I'm also impressed by the fact that the same support person dealt with each problem from start to finish.
So far, this review. I assumed I would get to write a few sentences in a Trustpilot kind of deal. To be confronted with what seems like an epic quiz is pretty annoying. I was very close to closing the window and forgetting about it.
This is my first membership site so I had no idea what I was doing when I started. Memberpress has allowed me to convert a book I self-published into an entire online course that I can price at nearly 100x the cost of the downloadable book. The benefits seem pretty obvious.
The platform provides a lot of flexibility in terms of types of memberships, pricing, and content access. Our chapters have different policies related to membership and, even in MemberPress doesn't support a particular plan natively, we've been able to creatively use other features of MPress to design the offerings we want. Also, the support has been top notch. Whenever we encounter a problem or have a question, they respond within hours. They'll point us towards documentation that we've missed, suggest a workaround, or provide a code snippet for us to try out.
The administration and reporting features of MemberPress could be stronger. We're very interested in the situation of each of our members as individuals. Getting a handle on member, membership status, and membership expiration date is not available in one view. At an aggregate level, reporting seems adequate, but at an individual member level, it's lacking.
Our membership process across our 10 chapters has been fragmented and amnual. MemberPress is giving us the chance to standardize on one platform, automate administrative processes, offer member-only content, and build our community
Easy to implement and fully feature membership system. Fully integrates with Wordpress and our marketing automation and email systems.
Documentation and support is thorough but access could be more intuitive.
It made our membership process fully automated and seamless. It has helped us create an additional revenue stream.
Create multiple membership levels and plans, lock content behind membership, and easily integrate with other tools.
Rules work a little weirdly compared to other membership plugins. Coupons and trials don't work the way I'd like them to.
MemberPress makes it easy for me to make membership levels and leave all the renewals, alerts, upgrades, downgrades, and more to automation through its tools.
Once you conquer the technical side of MemberPress, it is nimble and--eventually--intuitive. More so than other platforms we've used. The recent addition of quizzes is a great options. Utilizing the "Courses" element results in an amazing user/student experience, at least as nice as Teachableecossistema.
Although MemberPress has LOADS of training modules, they do not have a success path or even checklists to follow. Knowing in advance "Follow these steps to get _______ results for your membership platform" would have saved us days of floundering.
We're able to retain control of all aspects of our courses and memberships using MemberPress. This wasn't possible on Teachable or other platforms we looked at. And we're able to do this for a significantly lower investment than those other platforms. So, you trade some learning and build time for big savings.
It enables me to run my members site easily
It slows down my site and very occasionally has issues with other plugins
I am able to create courses and drip feed constant to members
MemberPress eliminated the most time-consuming task of our course: lost password access. I love the automated password reset for our students. All tasks are managed at the dashboard of the website helping me to efficiently check on students. Management reports on the income provide insights into results of marketing efforts.
You need to spend some time in the beginning learning the system. This is often a challenge for those who do not "Read The Instructions!" At the end of the day, once set up, it's a breeze. Still trying to work on style sheets for the landing pages. Not quite as intuitive for training less experienced potential staff.
The most time-consuming aspect of a membership site is now automated giving me more time to focus on member resources and benefits. Deliver of course materials was a challenge without compromising the security. Now we are able to check sign-ins and know the user access.
The seamless integration with the other technology I'm using.
I haven't found anything concerning so far.
MemberPress is managing my different membership levels and managing my content within my membership site.
This plugin is perfect. You can configure everything you want. Easy to install and easy to use. Docs are clear. I recommend it!
Nothing. This plugin fit well with my needs.
I have choose Membership to give access to a private space for my customers.
Easily add paid memberships to your Wordpress site. Plug and play solution that does exactly what I need it to.
Can be a bit of a learning curve and takes planning for how you use the product features. But overall it's a good set up. There could be more case studies and info on how to use some features and set up.
Gating content for members only. It has allowed me to monetize the website and create a recurring revenue stream.
Simplicity, adaptability, and the ability to integrate easily with wordpress
Nothing yet, we have not yet launched the site, so stay tuned.
Will be solving the problem of having different pricing for members than one time buyers. We can share that info privately. This helps us build incentives for customers to become dealers.
Very simple to use "out of the box" and when I didn't see it, the documentation was very helpful. I also liked the large selection of add-ons as needed.
Not so much about the product, but the website I felt needed better flow. I had keep jumping back the original url (in the beginning)
Ease of use for myself and client. We moved from basic individual subscriptions to corporate accounts in a few months after seeing a ROI
Good integrations, well documented and easy to maintain, memberpress has revolutionised the way my clients are getting revenue. Really impressed, Im a big fan.
People (members) tend to mess around with their memberships, although there are manual ways to add, remove and amend subscriptions, it would be great to see more tools like batching to manage these.
User susbcription management, the sign up process and renewals.
It is very well conceived and has every feature that I need, and so many more. The tutorial videos and the in-program context help are fantastic!
The content protect is just ok, and could be lot more complete to cover more use cases. It is also seems to be very blog-centric, and I would prefer that the full feature set be applicable to pages in addition to blog posts.
MemberPress has helped me complete transform my site and the way in which I share content. The ability to generate passive income from my existing audience is a huge benefit. Knowing that I can reliably manage my users and keep my business reputation high is extremely important.
It has all the necessary options to manage subscriptions to your website created with Wordpress and to manage the content associated with each membership.
It should have better integrations - for example we have had some trouble getting it to work with Woocommerce
The management of differentiated content for different users.
Simple onboarding and documentation really helps
Support for onboarding developers could improve
Building a WP integration with MemberPress
I love the endless possibilities of settings. This plugin is comprehensive but still relatively easy to use! The icing on the cake is the ability to sell and manage my courses directly in the Memberpress admin. It's intuitive, easy, quick and perfectly integrated.
The design and layout options are limited. The integrations with some page builders makes it a little easier but it is not ideal. I do like the way the courses look though... and I think it can only get better! Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience with MB to discuss the membership and payment management aspects.
I am now able to monetize part of my content, sell my coaching services and my trainings through a single platform (WP) thanks to a single plugin (MP).
MemberPress is extremely flexible and customizable due to being built on WordPress. API and Zapier integration makes automation much easier so we get the best of both worlds: sass like quality and ease of use, but customizations like a custom software choice.
Managing subscriptions as an admin can sometimes be confusing since everything is controlled in Stripe using their subscriptions.
Managing new user sign-ups for our web care plans, automating their information into our web management systems and keeping tracking of monthly plan subscriptions. Very stable which is a must for payments and memberships - very flexible. Good support.
