As an AutoCAD user for over 20 years, I've appreciated the improvements that have been made. It is very easy to use and most features are intuitive. The ability to easily create viewports separates this product from others.
Using 3D in the standard AutoCAD could be a bit more developed. It feels a touch clunky.
Using the list feature to determine cable lengths.
The ability to utilize multiple platforms.
There is not multi-core processing for all processes
electrical design
I STARTED WITH AUTOCAD VER. 10 BACK IN COLLEGE ON A 386 LAPTOP. USED MANY VERSIONS ALONG THE WAY. EVERY VERSION HAD NEW BENIFITS, BUT WAS STILL FAMILAR AND THE BASICS WERE STILL THE SAME. MAKING IT EASY FOR ME TO GO FROM ONE VERSION TO THE NEXT
HOW YOU KEEP CHANGING THE MENU SYSTEMS, THE SAME FUNCTIONS ARE THERE, JUST HAVE TO LEARN WHERE THEY ARE AGAIN.
I USE IT MOSTLY FOR THE LAYOUTS OF OUR PLANTS. WE ARE CONSTANTLY UPGRADING TO NEW MACHINES, SOMETIMES HAVE TO MAKE MULTIPLE MOVES TO GET NEW MACHINES IN. GREAT HAVING IT ON MY PHONE SO I CAN SHOW CONTRACTORS LOCATIONS AND EVEN MEASURE LOCATIONS ON THE SPOT. ALSO USE IT TO DRAW UP PARTS AND USE SOLID MODELS.
I like the versatility of the program. You can do a little bit of everything with the autocad program.
I have a love/hate relationship with the fact that you can complete almost every command in 5 different ways, lol.
We use drawings for our technicians to install our systems and then use the same drawings for our service department afterwards. and we give a copy to our client. So it's a win-win.
Easy to use for newcomers. Clean interface.
Hard to deploy in an enterprise without using a network license.
Using it for any major project at the Parliament.
I love all of the features that AutoCAD has to offer. The program itself is necessary for accurate design work including floorplans, 3D models, elevations, etc. The abilities in AutoCAD are endless and that's what makes this program my favorite.
The only thing that I have ever had a problem with in AutoCAD is how I have to go to DWG True view to download an old file and can't just open it. It's just the extra step that makes the process a tad longer.
The ability to give a client an accurate representation of their floor plan with furniture included is marvelous! The fact that I can go in there and do a 2D and 3D drawing of it and be able to show my client what their exact piece of furniture will look like including finishes really helps drive our sales.
It's a great versatile tool to make engineering die lines and 2D drawings for my company. I really like the thing that the undo can go all the way until the program was started and some competitors dont have that features like solidworks so this is a really huge plus point for me to use AutoCAD. I like that when I import the PDF i can edit it and I can grab the lines and start drawing off of that and its great
I feel like the company has to make great 3D features for the software to make it really powerful tool that can do anything. Also if I can buy a version right away instead of subscription as I was a student before and I didn't had any choice to buy the software and only subscription Other than that I have no complaints
Making dielines and using it to cut it on our laser machine to prototype it before making it final. We use it to create final engineering drawings for my company. The use of layers is so wonderfully done and its a breeze to use as compared to other competitors and it can run on computers with average configuration and we dont need a really great PC to run it smoothly. I like how we can link the excel sheet to AutoCAD and even after putting in the drawing it can update after we update excel sheet.
AutoCAD is very easy to use and there are a lot of features that benefit our company.
There are not that many things we have problems within the software. It's pretty good.
We can design our equipment and streamline our process.
How efficient it is and the learning process. Can only get you better and more qualified for your job or trade.
Sometimes it crashed but the autosave feature is a life saver.
lets you customize blueprints for specific needs. Helps understand your jobsites even more and how you should proceed.
I love how simple using the program is. Since switching to this program for AV drawings things run a lot smoother.
Whenever Autodesk runs an update all the buttons move
Makes our drawings more uniform
